Privacy Policy

Ashtangi (the "app", "we", "us") helps you track your Ashtanga yoga practice. To do that, we collect a small amount of personal information, store it securely on our hosting providers, and use it to power the features you sign up for. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Ashtangi is a wellness companion for logging practice and reflection. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. For health concerns, consult a qualified professional.

• Account information: email address, and (when you provide them) your name and profile preferences.
• Practice data: practice logs, reflections, onboarding answers, home studio, and other content you create in the app.
• Device location, only when you grant permission and only while you search for yoga studios nearby. We do not store the coordinates you share for studio discovery.
• Push notification token, if you opt in to push notifications. The token is associated with your account so we can send you notifications you have requested.
• Product analytics: events about how you use the app (e.g. screens visited, features used) along with a stable user identifier so we can understand product usage and improve the service.
• Reflection prompts and outputs: when you use daily or weekly reflections, we may send a limited summary of your recent practice data (for example logs, preferences, and short notes you have entered) to our AI provider to generate text. You can stop using reflections at any time; existing reflections remain in your account until you delete them or your account.

• To create and authenticate your account.
• To save and display your practice logs, reflections, and progress.
• To find yoga studios near you when you ask for them.
• To send push notifications you opt in to.
• To understand how the product is used and to improve it.
• To respond to your support requests.
• To generate optional AI-assisted reflection text from your practice data, when that feature runs.

We use the following third parties to operate the service. Your data is processed by them on our behalf, under their respective privacy policies:

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting (privacy policy).
• Vercel — application hosting (privacy policy).
• OneSignal — push notification delivery (privacy policy).
• Google Firebase Analytics — product analytics (privacy policy).
• Resend — transactional email delivery (privacy policy).
• DeepSeek — AI inference for optional daily and weekly reflections (privacy policy). Practice-related text you have already provided may be sent to DeepSeek's API to produce reflection content. We do not use this for advertising.
• Google — if you choose "Continue with Google", Google processes sign-in on their side and shares basic profile identifiers with us as described in Google's terms; we store what we need to run your account (Google Privacy Policy).

We do not use your data for advertising and we do not share it with advertising networks or data brokers. Analytics are used internally to improve the product.

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we delete the personal data associated with it from our active systems within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law. Aggregated, non-identifying analytics may be retained longer.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can:

• View and edit most of your data directly in the app under Settings → Profile and Settings → Your practice.
• Opt out of push notifications under Settings → Notifications, or in your device settings.
• Delete your account: open Settings → Delete account in the app. That sends a signed request to our team with the details we need to remove your account and associated personal data (within 30 days, except where the law requires retention). You can also email support@theashtangi.com from your registered email for export or other requests.

Ashtangi is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Our service providers may process your data in countries other than the one where you live, including the United States and the European Union. When we transfer personal data across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards under applicable law.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email.
